The Illinois Marathon was last week and I was able to come downtown to get some photos of runners as part of an ongoing project to update the photos for the City of Champaign website, because they are for the city website most of the photos were shot as part of a cityscape.
I covered the IHSA Individual State Wrestling Finals for three days in Champaign for my old employer the Rockford Register Star. State Finals are always fun because there is an abundance of action and reaction photos to be found.

I was asked to shoot the Illinois and Indiana game for the University of Illinois Public Affairs this week. I was there to get photos of Assembly Hall with a full crowd but I stuck around for the game and of course it ended with a last second buzzer beating win over #1 Indiana.

Last night I photographed the Illinois and Purdue dual wrestling meet for the Chicago Tribune. I was there to cover Illinois wrestler B.J. Futrell who is a Chicago native. It was nice to shoot some wrestling since it’s been awhile. Here are a few photos from some of the other matches.

The newest addition to our family, my daughter, Anne Jeanine Woloszyn. Born December 28, 2012 at 6:41 pm, Weight: 7 lbs. 15 oz. Length: 19.5 inches. Annie is our first child and she has been wonderful, we can’t wait to watch her grow.

Another Chicago Tribune assignment, this time on gun control. The story was originally about the new conceal carry law in Illinois and the disconnect between the City of Chicago and the rest of the state. The strange part of this assignment was it was set up a few days in advance and the day I took the photos was the same day of the Sandy Hook school shooting so the story became a bigger deal.

I was called for a freelance assignment for the Chicago Tribune to take photos of a former high school cheerleader from the Chicago area who is now a student at the University of Illinois. The story was on cheerleading related injuries and coming back from the injuries.

I was able to shoot the Illini men’s basketball season opener back in early November. Early season games usually aren’t all that thrilling because of the smaller school opponents and the crowds are usually smaller. The early games are usually pretty sloppy too because the players haven’t practiced much.

My wife, Molly, and I are expecting our first child this December. We took sometime today to take our own pregnancy photos, it was a little cold but everything turned out great.
